@the5thseraph If he didn't know about it then he wouldn't have suggested it. To some extent Greg should have heard about dark dragons killing humans to become stronger which is why he suggested it. It doesn't matter if we aren't told, the guy knows, and that's his payment for saving the village. And also the humans already know about the concept of monsters leveling up and changing form, the girl recognized the dragon even after he evolved so that means they understand how it works, its very possible that something like an "Evil Dragon" would level up by killing humans. It was also said in the evolution screen that the calamity/evil dragon is one that is constantly sent out to be subjugated and the fact that it can kill humans to get stronger is probably the reason why. My final point is that he could never have defeated that earth dragon, his hp was so low that it wasn't even a possibility and if he evolves normally and gets reset back to lvl 1 then he becomes either on the same level of strength as the rock dragon or weaker, that's too big of a risk to take and even his luck won't last there. Greg sacrificed himself to save the village and that's all, there is no room for compromise.
