Interesting tbh. It's not incredible but it isn't hot trash by any means like most isekai are

if his parents died, wouldn´t he be either adopted or killed outright by whoever takes the power to legitimize their claim one way or the other? i find it strange that he is just put on hold like that, which gives me "red flag vibes" tbh.

Having read some of the light novel, I will tell you that the political intrigue and world building is pretty well thought out. The 1st volume does a pretty good job laying out the exposition while Carmine progresses through his childhood

I've read up to LN V.5 P.9 (official translation on J-Novel Club), which is like 5 arcs away from the released manga, and so far it’s alright. It has an interesting premise, unlike most stories of this kind, the MC has to personally grasp the throne and actually fix the rotten empire without any special powers aside from past-life knowledge and the fact that he was born an emperor. Guy has to fix the economy, the military, and many more reforms, while juggling the reaper’s scythe to not fall on his head.

It leans more on a serious side, and one might appreciate it if they enjoy world-building.

The story is not particularly interesting, logical but perhaps too logical, characters are not one-dimensional, but kinda lack charm. It’s a “read if there is nothing to read”/10
