Ah yes, the traditional story of how a koi (carp) can become a dragon in Eastern tales. How come he gets a human form though?...:thonk:

What a strange format to adapt the novel.

All I'll say is that the MCs are INTENSELY easy to distract. They're not incompetent, just uh, juggling 8 different things at every waking moment.

Wait, does this have any relation to the PC-98 game E.V.O.: The Theory Of Evolution or the SNES game E.V.O.: The Search For Eden?

I hate when manga blow their load prematurely and show way ahead into the future as part of the first chapter. Removes the interesting factor of seeing what he becomes if I know he becomes op and humanoid (though its pretty easy to guess from the start anyways lol)

Why would you show him as op human in the very first panel.. ? That makes reading it literally pointless, since no matter what happens you know he ain't going to be a fish for long anyway
Was coming here to say this, it's such a spoiler and foolish way to introduce the story. It would have been interesting if he was an animal who was unable to communicate the entire time, or could only communicate when he is a dragon, thus giving him a goal.

Good thing the story was kind enough to tell me it will throw away its premise by giving MC a generic human form, so I won't have to bother with it.
At least make the "human form" something like a sahagin or a merman ffs.

this can work .
for example if an author first shows a scenario from the future and then goes back to the past and the differences are so great or maybe even confusing that the reader is intrigued and wants to know more. for example first show two characters being best friends in the future and then cut back in the past were they were enemies who want to kill each other, what happend that these two changed so much that enemies became friends. if done well you can build an instant hook to draw the reader in.

the problem here is that we have a fairly generic isekai scenario and the end shown is also very generic (OP MC), so it adds absolutely nothing and even takes the fun out of the journey because we know it will stay generic and won't be particularly unique.

So... he's not questioning why he died or what happens to his family or friends?
He just slept normally and then reincarnated. Didn't seem he was sick or anything either. Maybe his parents killed him. :finnawoke:

I think I've read a manhwa with the same premise as this one before. Both MC got reincarnated into a fish, can evolve, etc. I don't remember the title though.
