we debated on that, but in the JP, they specifically used the words for blue and purple, with no indication to Violet and Bleu like in other instances

Here's the raw line. If they were specifically saying Violet and Bleu, you would see ヴィオレ and ブルー for the two respectively

pretty much this as well. When translating, they can sort of be interchangeable, but it varies in JP. Back all the way in chapter 44 when Diablo gets called Noir, it's specifically said as Noir

Yes and no.
Their official titles are Primordial Purple, Violet and Primordial Blue, Bleu. Like with Primordial Black, Noir, you'll go with whatever the JP went with.
If the Japanese says Purple, you translate it as Purple. If it says Violet, only then do you use Violet.

tbf, that's more her special ability warning her of how dangerous he is rather than her own intelligence. The fact that Stella and Phos felt to be wary of Diablo (when they felt nothing around Rain and Violet) speaks volumes. Especially with Stella, we know how hot-headed and stubborn she can be.
