A lot of settings use "the power of a name," for something or other. A notable example for people using a site like this would be something like Bleach. The swords unlock more power with their names, attacks are more powerful if you use the name, etc. The setting here has a lot of game type stuff baked into it so in game terms they just went from being random throwaway NPCs to being elites, rare spawns or even the boss versions of the same species.

Lol the plot twist is funny. You pretty much gave your life essence to the demons, so that's why they grow right afterward. This is how you make a contract with a demon (bad djinns) anyway irl - via black magic (at least in my local culture but now it's abolished nationwide due to religious/divine cleansing). They will suck your blood if you want them to do your biddings.
