Well that's disappointing, how did an isekai character from modern Japan end up being brainwashed by yet another cliche corrupted cult masquerading as a state religion?

I've read enough isekai to know that if you somehow end up in another world, the FIRST thing you should eradicate is the Church of that world.

*tsk*...
This was quite wholesome till I read the spoilers. What's that all about this soul sacrificing? I'm okay with killing the armies, because they are there to kill people (monsters/humans). If you would allow them to retreat, they just regroup and come back. It's a religious crusade, so there is no other way to stop them in this generation, but to break that nation's backbone. But sacrificing their souls takes it quite far.
I know, it's just a story and it's for reviving Shion and children and everything, but soulkilling. If there is an explanation, that tunes it down like, the soulsacrificing is just soul banishing from that world for the next 500 years, it is fine I guess. But to feed souls to someone/something to gain an effect, that's just *urk* Edging around to make the story more interesting and edging the MC up? It doesn't need that.

@Eksentrysyti don't they put a yoke on the kids they bring over? I doubt they'd want to use their power houses they brought over. They can even use mind control kind of crap on them too

Soul Sacrificing is a a condition that Rimuru or any of the his subordinates have to meet in order to evolve into True Demon Lord (tho it doesn't have to be human souls can be beast too) (I guess to make the plot more interesting for the readers) But I remember later on they will have to gather 100,000 more souls for Rimuru subordinates to evolve into True Demon Lords. Like you said it's to make the story...well...interesting.

Hinata Sakaguchi is been brainwashed by Yuki Kagurazaka, the final boss in the WN. Which explains her narrow views on monsters = evil, therefore must be killed. The western church religion Hinata belongs to is actually founded by a Demon Lord, Ruminas Valentine. In the WN, Hinata has a very good character development arc imo.

Note to everyone yet again.
The Spoilers WILL ruin your day if you read them. It doesn't matter how far you have read, unless you have actually FINISHED the web novel you're going to be pissed.

@Xx_Itz_Jamez_xX: I'm not convinced, this is a good plot device, but I guess I have to see how the author is handling this. 😁

I really don't understand why people feel the need to post completely unsolicited spoiler bombs in the comment section all the time. It's not even marked so people "willing to be spoiled" won't know what they're being spoiled. They risk being spoiled on something minor or having important plot twists and details exposed, so any person with self-control won't click it. Novel readers clicking it will just be told information they already knew, and the occasional person with no self-control will click the spoiler tag and have the next 100 chapters spoiled by some dickhead who also has no self-control. So from what I can tell, nobody gets anything out of it besides a negative experience, and the only people that would post this are retards who don't understand that there's no point in posting it.

For literally what reason are you retards doing this shit? If you're going to post a gigantic plot spoiler, even under a spoiler tag (because that doesn't matter if there's no reason to post it in the first place,) ask yourself for what reason you're posting this shit. Legitimately, if you're doing this, you're exactly "those guys" who read the source material and won't shut the fuck up when you're watching the movie adaptation with friends. They won't say it directly to you, but everyone hates you and doesn't want to watch anything with you.

If you're going to post a massive spoiler that wasn't asked for or isn't a part of an ongoing discussion, nor will it upon thought contribute anything to discussion but suffering, consider the following: don't.

@sujinko no one actually knows about the alliance with dwargon yet (its a secret pact atm for some reason), and iirc brumund is a smaller country that is only now picking up trade due to tempest breaking farmas' monopoly; farmas probably doesnt care about brumund's military threat. beyond that, tempest isnt part of the union, and so since their only official ally at this point is brumund they look isolated and as if no one would back them up in a fight.
and then theres the whole church doctrine thing. from a political standpoint farmas king has enough backing to not really worry about brumund.

iirc, he also doesnt know how strong tempest is because he thinks youmu and co were responsible for dealing with the orc disaster (with help from tempests 'armaments), so he has at least some justification for thinking he could overpower tempest with numbers. its still dumb as fuck though because he should have more than enough ability to find out that tempest is full of A rank monsters.

Makes me think we should have a 'Manga discussion: No spoilers', 'Chapter discussion: no spoilers' and 'BEWARE SPOILERS' section :p

Only clicked the one spoiler, which talks about something that I didn't catch in context and somehow happens in every damn isekai manga. So didn't feel spoiled, thankfully. But I do get the need for some people to relive their feelings on subjects in the web novel at about the pace of the manga chapters coming out and understand how that might hamper others enjoying the comments.
