Thanks!

Wow, new sibling already "Nah I'd win" lmao

Based on how it's set up, the prince will save the day when she's in trouble with the grandparent(guess) later
Or he'll be charmed and be a 'doting grandfather', if not just use a fake name or so tho i wonder how much you could copyright a recipe to prevent others from selling them, tho at the very least hopefully ppl can remake stuff back home for like guests and such

Again, cooked apples aren't sweet, especially when there's explicitly no sugar used. These pies would be practically inedible.

Author should stop writing cooking manga if they know so little about food. Obviously, they won't read this, but I felt the need to vent.

And probably her future fiancé

maybe not to us but I’m sure it’d be good for someone who’s never had sugar before. They were basically eating gruel in chapter 1.

Well, to be honest, you can make apple sweet by itself but it would need a machine and a day or two.
Another thing is that they aren't exactly poor, dining in that world is just underdeveloped (they don't even have much in terms of food hygiene). They could probably substitute sugar with something more natural like honey.

They wouldn't be inedible, geez. Just the breading with some lightly sweet fruit crunch would be a big change of pace.

I'm surprised you're still on that instead of the cookie-shaped "scones".

The issue is more that actually sweet apples is a relatively modern thing (I ranted about this in a previous chapter)
There's a reason why apples were only used in cider or animal feed for a long time...

She's a reincarnated person, though; she's definitely had sugar.

Actually, there wouldn't even be a lightly sweet fruit crunch because wild apple are naturally sour, and cooking apples causes the fructose in the apples to break down and for the water in the apples to be reduced, further increasing the acidity. Throw in the fact that cooked apples in apple pies aren't crunchy (you've got to cook them down before you put them in the pie crust), and you're basically eating tart, toothsome apples in pie crust.

Scones can be cookie shaped; yes, they're typically triangular, but if you spoon drop them on a sheet before you bake them, they're going to turn out round and pretty close to cookie- or biscuit-shaped.
They could probably substitute sugar with something more natural like honey.
Honey has a tendency to split when cooked for long periods.

I pity everyone here who only had unsweet apples in their lives. Poor GMO or poor orchards only... If only you got to know sweet apples

I'm surprised the prince was helping out with making the scones; I thought he'd just check the results and not that he would be invited in the kitchen.

I'm also surprised they didn't react to the colour of his hair even though they're well aware of it since they dyed Milliana's.

I know nothing about cooking nor its history so this is a pretty interesting comment section.

Is that so? Guess I haven't baked them for too long then.
Sorry, I make desserts from time to time but I don't really think about it much so my knowledge about it is not much.
