I've said it before and I'll say it again. MC should just stop wasting so much time travelling. The people he cares about are dying left and right while he takes his sweet time.
That would kinda defeat the point of why he left the forest in the first place. He didn't set out to find a spouse and settle down. He left to see what the world has to offer and go on a journey. It was inevitable that he was gonna meet ppl and make friends. Whenever he makes a new friend, is he gonna settle down and live there till they grow old and die? What if he makes new friends there in that time? What about their kids? He would effectively never leave the moment he makes a friend. Or live a life where he keeps everyone at a distance.
The MC has chosen to live his life as he wants, exploring new places and trying new things. All in the persuit of his own whims. And although he can't always be around for the ppl he meets he can leave behind a good relationship that lasts generations. With his life span I think he has chosen to rember the individual by continuing the relationship with the bloodline.

There's no way Kaushman is dead already right?! He was a sorcerer and it wasn't like he was super old or anything! Dude was in his 20's at worst right? So he should be...like...80s? Surely a sorcerer can live that long! Freakin' bittersweet is an understatement for this arc...

The reason why I love this manga is how melancholic it feels. Life goes on even if you're functionally immortal. People you know live and die, but you stay the same. All you can do is hold onto their memories. And I love seeing how the MC's existance influences the lives, deaths, and families of their loved ones.

It's why I like Frieren a lot.
it also how this manga is more about the people on this world, like yeah we see MC fight monster solve problem, but most of the time he just let the people figure out the problem themselves and come to see them latter.
it make the story of this manga to be about the people in this world as much as MC.

Ahhhhhh
I can't bear waiting anymore
...
If I want to read the continuation of this chapter with the novel, at what volume should I start? I would like to read all from beginning, but my wallet is tight, and I can't purchase all the books...

I really like the two perspectives we have with this manga and Frieren.
Frieren is an elf life through the lens of someone who's seen it all before. She's just going through the motions but slowly learning that maybe connections are important, no matter how short they are.

This manga is through the lens of someone more inexperienced about living such a long life and the impact it really has. I especially love how the author treats time so nonchalantly that we the readers get constant whiplash on how much time has passed. I constantly catch myself going "HOLY SHIT ITS BEEN 80 YEARS?!"

Both stories are just so good and I hope nothing but good stuff from this manga
Add to that, Frieren plot currently is a limited timeframe focused of roughly 10-15 years journey, aka., her journey with Fern & Stark to Aureole.

We don't even know whether the plot of Frieren would one day leave behind Fren & Stark and move beyond them, or end with them reaching Aureole.

On the other hand, "this Series" is about Acer's life journey from his PoV (aka., from the PoV of a person to whom difference between 10 years and 50 years is same), and would end when he dies.

If you haven't checked it out yet, this is another story I'd put into the same category. Craving an update for some time.
Don't think you would get update on that series on Mangadex.
That series had been licensed by KManga, and since they usually release chapter fast and catch-up to do simulpub, no Fan-translation group are interested in wasting time on a series which gets simulpub (unless it's a mainstream series like Black Clover, for example).
This is also why the Fan-translation of "7th Prince" also stopped as KManga is officially simulpub that series same day as Japan.

This is about half way through volume 4, chapter 3. You can subscribe to J-Novel ($4.5/month) and binge reading the entire series there (read only, not include ebook).
Or if it's still not viable option, you can find a copy on nyaa.

To all the retards reacting negatively, explain yourselves. Don't just push the button and call it a day like a pussy.

I thought I was ready, but seeing Nonna's grave just painful :'(

I hope Kaushman left something for him, though why do I have feeling he would still be alive when Aesir reach Odine?
