Man, ik it was a necessary show of force but could you imagine being one of the artisans who laboured over that cathedral? If it's anything like irl cathedrals, that thing could've taken literal centuries on and off to get constructed and the entire thing ends up reduced to dust because of 1 evil man. I'd cry. :dogkek: :meguuusad:
Maybe in the future if he decides to learn architecture he'd look back on this and regret how he handled it, deciding to be more careful in the from then on.

What i meant by baggage is Fern and Stark and the time period being locked down to two distinct periods. They're both fine, not saying they're bad, but they anchor the story in ways this manga is not, people are met and left, seen again decades later, if at all, and our boy's attachments are more transient than ongoing... maybe i'm not explaining it well exactly but this story feels more free than Frieren's, more of the perspective of the timeless than the timed...
This arc that just ended, is how his attachments aren't transient, but the memories of others will fade, so he's making sculptures that will last.

I can't recall what his son is up to, but i recall it was combat oriented. It would be really depressing if that unbreakable armor and 2 years of training ends up being what gets his son killed.
Yeah had the same thought, Cretos is either gonna join his son in the trenches or is gonna be fighting Aesir's son.

Scenes like turning an entire cathedral into sand and making it a sculptor reminds you that he is an immortal demi-god. while he says he would lose to the trio, he just has to ask the spirits for OP hax and stomp them. Also that suit of armor looks so nice. Definitly gonna become an heirloom.
I think it a matter of perspective, he can move mountains and spilt the earth, but sword fight is a skill that need to be honed into his body.

It's kind of weird how he was apparently able to casually manhandle (and subsequently rob blind) an entire group of elite assassins of the...um, mage nation, but now he barely managed to keep up with one elite assassin of the church (who apparently also had an abnormal amount of hax). Sure, we know he can always fall back to borrowing the power of the spirits and rearrange a geography or two, but it's really starting to bother me how inconsistent his progress with martial arts has been when he's been training CONSTANTLY FOR OVER A HUNDRED YEARS now. Yes, maybe he's not training as single-minded as a "pure" swordsman but he has five times the experience of anyone young and fit enough to challenge him physically.

There is a limit to martial arts, it doesn't seems this story going into wuxia direction where peak of martial art is literally invincible.

Sure but I'm not asking him to cut bullets in half midair or whatever (even though he can apparently cut a massive slab of stone in half, which is plenty superhuman already). I'm wondering how the heck has he managed to train so diligently and STILL be worse than people 1/5th his age.

Training vs applicable use. We see him TRAIN a lot but honestly, how many times have we seen him actually use his sword vs use the spirits to solve every problem he's come across?
