I think the pacing is just right with all those timeskips as well. It just shows that the passage of time is trivial for the MC because of his long life.

Nonetheless it was a mistake to binge the series. I read this chapter, came to the last panel and nearly broke inside. That smile is just too much. He will most likely fulfill the promise. But damn... First he spent most of the time with Kaeha's mom because Kaeha was on a journey to perfect her swordmanship. Then he has to save all the elves and everybody and their children know that he will not be back for a few years. He comes back, Kaeha has twins and is already middle-aged.

Then Kaeha's mom drops the bomb on him on her deathbed. I understand that MC sees death as a new beginning, but god damn... stay with Kaeha until the end! It's over in the blink of an eye for you, but for her it will be her whole life! She has loved him all this time!!! God damn it, author! I simply had to stop reading for now because this is not good for my mental health :'(

Coming back to this, and I have to say Kaeha's love is one of the most beautiful things ive ever seen in manga/anime media. She knows that her time is limited, so she solidifies herself as something that Aesir will never forget- be it the way of the sword that was honed through love, her dojo, her successors--- All of it, all of it. All so that Aesir would always have something to come back to, even when she's long gone. The amount of selflessness and love she has is just beyond what any person would do- I'd love for the author to make it so that there is a timeline where both of them end up together, she deserves at least that, doesnt she?

Actually, she deserves to have had Aesir's kids. Aesir is a failure of a male. It's like he was written by a woman. Wait...

He's getting ready to ditch a woman that loves him, and he did the same dumb thing to another two women in the last two chapters,.. aka the blonde and the half elf. He should have dragged these women along with him and lived happy lives with them. Who made him problem solver for the world?

This story reminds me of Frieren. You'd think being a long lived elf would be fun, no need to worry about lifespand or wasting your time. Then you start making friends outside your race and it suddenly feels like a damned curse. All the friendships, all the love, even your memories of them will all crumble to dust eventually.
