The real issue with MTL is the lack of consistency.

Like, one time, I read a webnovel using google translate and it was actually done really well. Then, a month later, I decided to reread it and it got significantly worse the next time...

But modern MTL actually isn't that bad and if a person uses multiple translators, properly proof reads it and has the idea for the context, it can actually be pretty good....

Though it is a lot of work to make it good.... but it's possible... though a lot of MTL translators won't go through all that effort...
