When the MC showed up, they said the people on the island mostly just spend their time fishing. And it's not like they were also bringing in supplies from the mainland, there were no regular trade ships. The only ones on the island that weren't self-sufficient were the guild receptionist and the dumbass noble who decided to import materials for manor house. The guild was losing money but the people living there were, by all reports, just vibing.Except they were just guild support personnel (although maybe not all were hired by the guild and instead took a gamble, they stil lwere the guilds support personel), and were entirely dependent on adventurers coming there, and the island becoming developed into a city. So they hadn't built an idyllic life. They were struggling and losing money, and very happy when mc brought the tourists they always intended to support.
Are you really that stupid or do you not understand what is happening with the island? I don't mean to be insulting but again as feha had pointed out the only reason anyone was on that island was because of the dungeon, the noble who built the mansion was also the same one who brought all the people to the island, the guild was the one who brought the adventurers and guild staff after the noble had an assessment of the dungeon rank ordered, everyone who was there either didn't have anything worth going back to the mainland for or were tied up making the island as you put it "A Company Town" which it isn't, what they are trying to do is trying to turn it into a Resort Destination a place that NEEDS Tourism to survive and survives off of its unique characteristics in order to make it a place to live. When the MC showed up, they said the people on the island mostly just spend their time fishing. I don't really care why they went there in the first place. As far as I'm concerned, they had a good thing going until the MC rocked up and decided they all had to serve rich tourists in exchange for money they can't even spend anywhere except the guild-owned stores, because there are no other businesses on the island!
You will never convince me that people are better off living in a company town
You're right, I'm such an idiot. How could I call a town where all the residents must work for the guild or the guild-owned resort or a guild-owned support services and the only place they can spend their pay is at businesses owned by the guild because those are the only businesses in the town a "company town"?A Company Town is a Town dedicated to a specific Business or Product
Just like you. From high quality isekai harem trash to base building. Epic
And why the fuck do so many Mangas have these weird ass "umu" sounds? It looks so stupid.
Yep. Catering to adventurers is how you can get ships to travel regularly to your offside island.Old man is one hell of an Ikemen.
His photo single handedly bring most of the rich women from the capital lol
you know thinking about it the guild didn't actually own any of the stuff you are accusing them of I mean legally they did but I am pretty sure Girold was technically the unofficial Mayor of the island and therefor the actual one profiting off of any money made from the resort which then went directly into improving the resort so they can drag the Nobels' of the capital to the island to vacation there and spend money to improve the island's infrastructure which given that NO ONE ACTUALLY LIVED THEIR BEFORE THE DUNGEON WAS FOUND meant everything that was being done on the island was solely to improve the islandYou're right, I'm such an idiot. Clearly this is some other different sort of town where the products of everyone's labour is funneled into profit one specific organisation. Not a company though. Cause the guild couldn't possibly be a company. It's just a private organisation run for profit. Which is different to a company.
