So whats with that brief flashback panel? Did he know christie from somewhere in his past life? I thought he was reincarnated 100 years later than his death which considering he's 40 now would make anyone he knew from back then at least 140 years old.

I assume we will find out in a later chapter what was up with that (hopefully sooner rather than later), but I got the impression he was at the very least reminded of someone else he knew prior to being reincarnated. What makes it a little odd is that Luciana knew the technique he used which from the sounds of things is not at all common so I wonder about that plot thread.

I think "Christie no nee-san?!" might indeed be the same as "Christie-nee-san". That's because particle "no" is not only used to show possession (like in "Boku no Piko", which means "My Piko"), but also as a modifier. Sorta like "baka no onii-chan" usually means "idiot brother", and not "brother of an idiot".
