Idc what hannah's reasoning was. I hope she gets a good punishment for this. Literally selling a baby to human traffiking, where they would do god knows what to her, just for some medicine and a job. As if she wasn't working under one of the kingdom's most powerful, and probably richest, families. What an utter dumbass. To top it off, she reaply was gonna just give up the baby and be on her way until they forced her to come along. Only then did she feel bad. If she doesn't at least get fired then they're stupid af.

Reading through all the comments and it seems that somehow no one else noticed that

in the basket Hannah mentioned that defying the kidnappers would be defying "Remington" which would also affect her mother's job (page 26) and the young captain of that elite Guard squad is also called "Graces Remington" (page 16).

Coincidence? Or just a really bad attempt at foreshadowing that already revealed the mastermind? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's hilarious the maid could just scoop up Leila, take her to a side gate and get into a random, unknown carriage with her. I guess the marquis is open to hiring plenty of maids, but has something against hiring guards.

That's the thing about desperation....you don't fully think things through. That's also why they are usually the ones people like this target.
She most likely going to be sold as a slave, if she was a guy she would probably had been killed and dumped by now and that money for what she did most definitely did not make it to her mother....if those message was real in the first place. She herself said she meets with her mother often so there was no reason to send a letter.

Yeah people sometimes doesn't even think right when desperate, even though she can at least make a request to the lord/her employer to check if her family is in danger, if her family is indeed in danger the lord as her employer can help her because it the duty of a leader, so she is doing that because of desperate tell us how her character really is, and she at least should be over 15 to become a maid there so she should have a mature enough thought process, and i think it quite hard to pass the requirements for work there in the first place.


So in conclusion hannah is a person who doesn't think twice, doesn't rely on other, don't trust her employer and other, easily manipulated, and doesn't have loyalty to match her position as a maid, also a selfish brat.
