I'm kinda curious now on her reasons on why she is conspiring with that enemy prince. What does Lia have that she doesn't? Other than not carrying the heir title because I'm pretty sure it's not that.

Let me take a few guess:

• Most people thought that the father was old fashioned and/or a bigot, but in reality he did know how evil his daughter is.
• Seeing how a lot of other Remingtons are also evil, maybe the father thought that she was not evil enough?

He could smell the stink of evil.

Ahh, the villainess' tragic backstory time to garner some empathy for the woman who conspired to kidnap an infant/toddler and sell her into servitude in a rival kingdom for yet unrevealed reasons.

Yeah that sympathy goes out the window when an adult starts mistreating kids.
