I also can't see Yuuki and Kagali without thinking about what they end up doing in the WN. I dunno anything about what they do in the LN, but it's weird seeing them just relaxing like this.
one mention of the word boomer and no one particularly cares.
meanwhile in coin loli one mention of the word karen and everyone throws a hissy fit and cries about it
@ravidya Not gonna go into too much detail yet, since the LN translations that are above MTL-quality only reach until volume 11, but as it stands:
Yuuki and Kagali are, at least at this point in time, treated slightly differently than they were in the WN. Fuze has talked about this in his afterwords, those two are among the characters who's positions, actions and importance he has reevaluated a lot. They are indeed (big spoiler for non-LN/non-WN reading people, beware!)
currently on the strictly evil side of things, doing evil stuff for selfish reasons, but there's no sign of Yuuki being the main Big Bad Evil Guy of the story at this point.
It could be that Fuze goes the same route as he did in the WN, but after volume 11 it's likely that he'll make some changes, both to these characters roles and to the later power-scaling. Many characters in the WN ended up with DBZ-level of power scaling, which really got out of hand.
@krantom because there’s not much alternative to it, and everyone actually gets it to a degree. Karen may be a meme but boomer is an actual generational terminology (short for baby boomer); basically the same as Gen X, millennial, and Gen Z, they are all on a basically-official level. Karen is more of a joke-meme level.
