I kind of dislike the sexualization not a prude but more I don’t think the series needs it as the story alone carries it and is distasteful to the female chefs especially Kiriko who was on par with Jan. Though she was getting sexualized a bit near the end of the original series too

Personally I've never feel they're on par. I always thought Kiriko is just plot device to show "normal" adversary as foil to Jan. As if she'll be thrown away the moment the story want to. Her dishes usually aren't given too much thought, sometimes doesn't get enough spotlight compared to Jan or other chefs. She also always get out easy like during shark contest, she's the only one that do nothing and get shark. She's always there, waiting for Jan's plot to move.
