i think...there is only so much of the "doesn't know common sense" trope that i can handle

like this feels like that one line from tropic thunder "never go full retard"and that whats make other isekai interesting

but i feel like this one went full retard its kinda annoying...

Seriously, the further this manga goes, the more difficult it is for me to believe that a person with zero common sense can exist.
I don't know who is worse among this protagonist and Matty-kun of the Shikkaku Mon no Saikyou Kenja manga.
For heaven's sake I know it is a fictional work, but I can't stop myself from reading and imagine what the boundary characters feel when they are dealing with similar subjects. xD

@Ifrittuccia Why? He lived with his Parents and they always told him that, how should he know? Imagine you would grow up in a forest, no civilization, only your parents and they tell you all the time, mhm, lets say, when someone dies they become a rainbowfrog that farts diamonds all the time.
Its totally ridiculous, but of course you would believe that, as long you havent seen someone really die.
Its the same with him, his parents always told him he is rather average, he has never seen someone fight besides his parents, who are still way stronger than him. As long as he dont see the humans fight to realise that they are all powerless compared to him, its totally believable that he really thinks that these angels are just like some weak birds that eat crops.

I mean, i guess he will struggle in the future when there are way more obvious signs und he could realise it, because ist comedy (and i find it funny untill now, but thats personal preference i guess), but to this point in the story its absolutly believable.

@Silwith I'm sorry but your point of view in this case does not convince me at all. 😅
I understand that you prefer to believe your parents and everything, but if you see the reaction they have of the soldiers you are helping and they tell you that that is a rank 3 and that they do not know how many men to knock it down maybe you start thinking instead continue with that naive way of thinking with which you grew up.
I don't know if I explained myself well, let me give you an example.
We realize that you are the one who was raised in this way as the protagonist of this manga, you meet these soldiers who launch themselves at the attack of the angels who you think are birds.
After having defeated them, a clearly stronger monster appears that even manages to talk to you, the soldiers tell you while they are sweating cold that this is a monster that cannot be defeated, or rather to beat it, it would take a considerable strength that at that moment does not exist. is.
You don't look at the monster while the soldier talks to you, look at the soldier and notice that he is sweating.
No matter how naive your brain is, you should own it, right?
Do you doubt that it is strange that they sweat?
Do you doubt that if they who are adults sweat that way you who are a child should pee on yourself?
Here, I don't understand this.
Even if the situation is critical, the important thing is to keep thinking, whether there is a bomb in front of you, a terrorist, a monster or whatever it is that you must never stop thinking.
This protagonist seems to me unlikely because he doesn't look around, this is better than Minato the protagonist of that isekai who is the son of a succubus.
Even Minato had grown up in an isolated place, inside a class A forest.
So the common sense for various things like money or trusting strangers does not possess it, but at least he reasoned on the battlefield.
He is not the first protagonist to grow up in an isolated place, even if he is not a reincarnated person, it does not mean that one should not look around.
Surely his parents will have taught him to use his brain because otherwise you can die. 😅

@Ifrittuccia Honestly, you wouldnt, you underestimate the influence of parents, especially in an isolated enviroment, on a MASSIV scale. This Boy has never even SEEN another human being than his parents, he may register the behaviour of the Knights, and his brain starts to think about it, nonetheless, a single incident will at most make him "huh? whats going on", but NEVER just let him start doubting everything he ever was told by the only persons he know and believes 100%.
It would start the process, sure, but honestly, even someone who grew up normally and then lived in isolation for about 10 years needs WAY more time than 5 minutes to find back to common sense, and that one KNOWS about it in the first place, while this boy doesnt.

And it isnt about what i "prefer", its not that he prefers to believe them, he has no other choice, because he has absolutly zero other informationgiver. His brain has only what they taught him and its just a fact that it needs more than 5 minutes to accept that something in that was wrong. Im sure when its going on it will get more to your side, because he sure will stay oblivious, even with more and more "hints" showing that something is wrong, while with this in reality the thoughtprocess would start and with a few more incidents he would get that something about his parents teachings was wrong, but until this very moment its absolutly acceptable that he reacts as oblivious as he does ^^ (We are pretty much at the point where he would slowly starts questioning because of the "weird" behaviours of the angel and the knights)

And just by the way, "taught him to use his brain because otherwise you can die"... they did as far as they are concerned? He exactly knows which Rank Angel he can kill and when he should run? Rank 1, run away, Rank 2, you can do it, this i Rank 3, all fine. So i dont see the point in that argument :D

(And i do get if you dont like it, thats fine, and it sure will get to the point where i will also be "well, thats just dumb that he doesnt get it...", we are only not there yet :p and with other Chars like Magi Grandson and so? Reincarnated Chars are something else, there its more a thing i would say  ^^)
