It’s funny, despite Mei and Nano being among the most responsible and intelligent people in the group. They are also the most emotionally stunted, beyond everything else, they just can’t understand empathy, compassion, or even interpersonal and personal desires. They feel it, they express it to some degree, but even still they don’t understand it. It’s nice to see the two of them getting some development, and Kusuri definitely needs that ethics class stat, that woman is more than willing to drug everyone if it means solving her problems.

Momoha has proven to be an invaluable addition to the cast, even though we already had a teacher in Naddy, she has the mentor role down pat. Despite being the living embodiment of a contradiction.

Momoha is the kind of teacher that would sit you down after class not to reprimand you for failing, but to help you understand why you failed. Personal improvement takes top priority more so than good grades with her, so long as whatever you’re learning can help you live a happier life is all that matters.

She might be a “loser” but that’s just because unlike everyone else she isn’t bogged down by inhibition, if she wants to do something, she does it. Not just because she can, like some others might find themselves doing things. But because it’s what she wants to do plain and simple. With her what you see is what you get, someone who lives life to the fullest everyday, never letting herself regret anything, well anything other than who she is.

She imparts on others the values she embodies. Though she sees them as detriments, that isn’t necessarily the case, it is simply her lack of inhibition that is the issue. Her choices are just a result of it, and she only does it because try as she might, she only becomes worse for the people around her when she doesn’t. I mean she has the ability to quit if she really tries, as is evident by her quitting smoking out right, good on her for that since it was killing her. But drinking and gambling isn’t much better, they are however more self destructive than outright harmful to the people around her like smoking was. Considering her mood when she used to smoke, and her irritability when she has money to spend.

She delves into her vices in a self destructive attempt at protecting those around her from the kind of person she is when she doesn’t do so. She’s an addict who knows she has a problem but can’t fix it. Maybe one day she might be able to overpower those vices, probably when she has kids or at least when she gets married. Because lord knows she doesn’t want to be a bad influence on her own babies.

Sex might literally be more addicting than drinking and gambling for her, I mean thinking back on it, we ran into this issue already before. Way back when the “Addictive Cabbage” cocaine filled rampage happened, the only thing which brought everyone back to their senses and stopped their fiending. Was kissing, the pleasure overwrote their addiction, the addiction they have to kissing far and away overpowers any other addiction.

Now Momoha has kissed Rentarou before, but with her being so controlled by vices and addiction, it’s possible it simply wasn’t strong enough to overpower everything else. I mean when Chiyo was introduced and everyone was banned from kissing for a while, they were all fiending for it as well, so their addiction to it might be just as strong as Momoha’s is towards everything she’s addicted to. Who knows, but I do know she isn’t going to be stuck like this forever. If she could kick smoking, she can kick everything else too! She just needs something to push her to do it, and having a baby or getting married might genuinely be the reason that will push her to do it.

You can’t drink while pregnant after all, especially not when breastfeeding. There is no way she wants her own children to turn out like she did, so to set a good example for them she’ll clean up her act and become a happier person because of it.

Something I’ve noticed is every girl in the family has a vice, something that they need to work on improving, something they aren’t proud of. Everyone is slowly helping each other grow as people, and in turn overcome their problems.

I like Momoha a lot, specifically the scenes where she flexes her ethics teacher muscles. She's a good teacher and a good role model, despite also being the worst role model imaginable. She's a lovely character
