Yeah, this is what happens when nobles get too up high on their horse and think of themselves as better than others. Nobles were once meant to be an ideal. An ideal where you are to be dignified, graceful, and show the wisdom and respect of the traditions where you have honor.
But then it became twisted to the point where it became a means of looking down on others. Where your blood is meant to be above that of commoners, and they are no different from beasts that should obey the whims of their superiors.
A true noble would respect one that earned the love and affection of the king, seeing them as a worthy rival and seek to learn and better themselves. Or accept defeat with dignity and grace. Not stoop as low as to try and commit murder through deceit and trickery.
