This has pissed off enough people though, Japan in particular is pissed off as a nation

Actually, japanese don"t care about animal rights. It's very common to have cats and dogs in cage in their house/flat.

And, every cow that I saw in Japan had nose ring, they don't care/think about if it hurts the animal. It's kinda sad.
