I'm aware of the line, but he doesn't use it here, and even the original line feels like bullshit at this point. I guess we can suppose MC is just a psychopath with the ability to discriminate on who is or isn't human to himself, but that just raises more questions than answers as far his mentality towards killing people. I think the author tried to write him as badass, but feel for the classic blunder of just making him an asshole instead.
