Personally, I don´t think the MC is going to be too mad about them being cautious.
If anything his only sin was being too sure that he was a fake in the first place before even giving him a chance to prove himself.
If he requested the MC to be tested he would most likely have agreed to it anyway.

well, a leader of the rings is a pretty reliable witness.
Even if he is the only one it should be enough proof for most if you combine it with the accomplishments he already has.
Not to mention this way IF he loses he won´t have anyone to tell just how badly he was being kicked around and can just say "he was strong enough"
