The chapter certainly revealed a lot of things

So reason Papa bear/wolf couldn't just rampage is because of the contracts and restraints the royal family imposed on him (sh*tty royals incoming?). So far, I'm really loving our papa bear and he truly DOES love her. Him getting mad/irritated over the mention of his wife (who is either dead or forcefully separated) at his intro chaoter is now looking even more tragic.

Sh*tty sibling and in laws are just plain ol' sh*tty. So, the reason they're still alive is precisely because of restrictions (and at least judging from Maybelle's reaction, she wouldn't stop her father that simple but because her intuition is telling her those chains are bad news. Eh. I can live with that. I just hope the entire family suffers in the long run. I don't know how but they better will.
