You can't tell me he, as War Veteran,9th Class Mage, Dragon Slayer, Strongest Mage to exist, would just get pushed down that easily without any resistance or time to react 😐

Also, is he really just using Ruri as Human Trafficking bait just because the prince requested him to investigate and his clear lack of balls has him do whatever he's asked of 🥲
You'd think he would be somewhat reluctant after the bonding they just went through and the situations in which Ruri couldn't use her powers, because unexpected situations popped up, but man just sends her for it

You'd be surprised how weak the strongest man in the world is when his guard is down and i believe rurin is strong enough to level the whole city if she were in any kind of danger

We've seen her more than once unable to do anything, because of some weird magic tool, or some other random dragon in hiding.
Also, he is on a mission right, which include previous cases of assassination and corruption, since the previous inspector's died you'd think he is on guard at all times, especially when you were just made to drink a possibly poisoned drink.

Also, I don't get why the trope "FMC has something important to report, but happens to meet MC exactly during that one moment of inability and thus the information gets ignored" is so popular...
i hate this trope so much

Its not the trope itself its how it is played out with how the characters are.
And in this case it is good/in character. Like they obviuosly got a romance going on. MC knows it, FMC knows it. They just are not there yet, making this sort of things bring tension to the romance. Getting the romance moving to the point we all want it to get to
