So, she did meet the marquis, after all. The man was more reasonable than I thought. But then again, I'm sure he was also pleased Emilia was super reasonable. At the end of the day, now that her job of keeping Ophelia company is over, she's kind of a dubious existence due to her background. Any reason to keep her around would be emotional/psychological. So, if she rather wanted to leave, it would help the marquis to feel like he's not doing anything bad, like throwing her out would be. I said earlier they could have wanted her to stay, even marry Raretis, but obviously adopting Raretis and having him marry the child of another noble is much better business. If, under such circumstances, Emilia had still been around, her position would have been extremely bizarre. Marrying her off later would have also been troublesome, considering her background is that of a commoner.
I feel like she could have handled Ellodi better. She can't get along with her, but she could have told Ellodi to donate money to an orphanage if she wanted to somewhat make up for her carriage driver's behavior. That would have been quite cordial, considering nobles did donate money to charity, but it also would have removed further interaction from between them, which Elimia finds annoying. Now she achieved nothing but leaving Ellodi with a bad impression.
