Yeah this series started more as a fantasy mixed with wuxia (in a way) with some power fantasy elements. But now it's pretty much just heavily leaning into power fantasy.

Like the first 200 chapters (and maybe more or less) of this series was absolute fire, but it just kinda degraded over time... I wish the author didn't derail it every single arc

really is unfortunately though I can only say one thing this is consider a tragedy story with Bai Ji and Ji Bai growth as a character but yea it kinda does fell off alot after her ascension to the throne actually after Bai Jin female knight form Death at the hand of Kerr/Lilith

I wonder if the whole tower is meant to be a trial for those who have gone with power. If it were, it would make sense for it to take the forms of those from one's past and call out to the fact that they don't know while they're fighting for. Unfortunately, Bai Ji isn't getting the memo and is just bruting her way fowards.
