What I always find funny is whenever these leads tell their maids, 'you're my little sister!' Yea, right. She's your little sister that's why she makes your bed, cleans your room, makes your bath, prepares your food, runs errands for you....I know bullshit when I see it.

@blaixe I took it more along the lines of "You're my family." Her saying "little sister" could simply be an endearing way for her to say it, much like how a child might refer to an elder butler whom they like as "grandpa" or a business partner of their parents as "aunt" or "uncle." As such, Shao'er is still a maid and thus has the same responsibilities, but she isn't going to be treated like a disposable object. I mean, it's clear that in her past life Yun and Shao'er were on good terms to the point where Shao'er lashed out at those guards when they came to imprison Yun, so Yun's attitude is likely already appropriate for such behavior.

I love that in reincarnations, the MCs are usually given the experience to butt heads not only with those of the same age but those who could have easily towered over her.

Well, the brother/sister, uncle/aunt, or perhaps even grandfather/grandmother sort of labels shouldn't always be taken literally in Asian content. People use them for unrelated people too, it's just a term of endearment for relative closeness sometimes. She's still a maid, it's her job to do maid duties whether the employer likes her and gets along with her or not.
