@Azure_1802 In some situations it can be fine, but if this was any normal situation I'd be at least a bit off-put by her giving them more silver. The food was perfectly reasonable though. As for why she offered more at all, based on what we know of her so far it could very well be just to build this blessed image. Some of what she needs for revenge is both influence and respect, and if played right then her gaining the title of a saint could become nothing but a boon that she could later exploit as a barrier against defamation, among other things. After all, it's preposterous that a saint would be so ruthless to a young miss that was just looking for her dropped earring in a pond. Clearly that other young miss is just spouting nonsense out of petty jealousy for the saint.

Kind of weird that they're asking for ONLY her. Usually, they'd let a personal maid go because really to higher-ranking people those maids are not even 'human'. It's super weird to have her go alone especially with the times this is set at.

@Azure_1802 and @Svelandria Assuming that she wasn't helping her family business already, I think the silver she threw now would only be a fraction of what she would make for her family later on since the title calls her a merchant rather than a merchant's daughter.

I mean, the eunuchs are eunuchs specifically so they can be trusted to enter areas of the imperial palace devoted to women like the empress or any concubines. If you can trust anyone to escort a young lady it's probably them?
