Also I think it’s one of those meta things like in that film called Cabin in the Woods where the titians represent the viewers who goes and watch horror films in this case the cliche being used are in Romance manga considering Ai is someone they look at she is obviously the main heroine of the manga those big eyes are seeing and confessing to her too early restarts everything maybe after 100 chapters they will allow the confession. But we still don’t know who they designated as the MC of the manga I assume it’s the other guy friend the one with the in the karaoke cause childhood friends never wins and our current MC is a childhood friend
