Good Manga. The Author really matured as the story progressed. From an edgy battle shounen where the risk takers are okay with dying, then to a drama to finally a personal struggle to survive in a world where it's hard to open up but it's worth it if done for the right people. Wonderful story. All effort is worth given we are delusion free.

I'm not gonna lie I lost interest about 30 chapters in, weird premise with a subpar protagonist that refused to listen to those with more experience than him, even as it killed people around him

Edit: Also just looked up the manga on TVTropes and yeah, this manga sucks, you don't do that to the first girl or the rival in the story

So you’re mad it’s unique and different to the masses of the same story printed over? Please try reading the manga with your eyes again and come back to me

Okay so someone clearly got bored and didn’t make it past the author switch. The edge was gone with the first author
It wasn't "edge". It was all an allegory for addiction, dude. Just addicted to climbing and all that entails instead of substance abuse. Most other characters are the same way, just not about climbing. That's why his schoolmates eventually robbed him, and that one loose girl tried moving in out of nowhere. They had their own obsessions/addictions to satiate.

You may not know this, but many authors like to use ambiguity and literary elements to tackle real-world problems and complex issues. Sometimes you have to look below what's shown and make the connections yourself.

O autor não teve a coragem de matar o protagonista como na história real, mas eu agradeço a ele por isso. Finalmente um final feliz em seinen kkkkkk

This may have single-handedly changed my life.
The first time I read this manga, there was this weird resonance between me and everything mori did, the more I read the more I felt similar, it felt as if I had found a mirror and it was staring at me, and that first read was incredible, I don't have words to describe what I felt. in my life I've always been partially mentally not present with people, but this was one of the few things I was truly present for. However, when I went in for a second read, it was different., I started my 2nd read after a big gap between my firsts, and in that gap, a lohappened. I started climbing again, and just started being okay with being alone. When I started my 2nd read, it felt really beyond measure. I'd see the mountains, I could feel the cold. I felt as if I was there with Mori, both of us blind to each other, yet we felt the same. During this time, I suddenly remembered, ever since I was a kid, I had a dream where I was buried in snow, and when I saw myself mori completely engulfed in snow in that one chapter, my eyes widened. I felt alive. I felt seen.

I could talk so much more about this. This manga fundamentally changed me as a person.
To me, this is the greatest manga ever written.
