Just how Hans saw his job to completion, will our protagonist see her seemingly insurmountable job of cleansing the world to completion?
And if so, what happens afterwards?

Also, Hans passed on the watch making skills (if only partially) to Isami, fulfilling the wish of the previous owner; I'm bawling my eyes out right now ;-;

Also also, Isami is definitely recognising the fact that their journey together will inevitably come to an end... And I swear to god I don't think I'll be able to handle it if he is planning to give her some memento to remember them by.

Like I'm half expecting this series to end with our protagonist having several mementos from all of her encounters across this postapocalyptic city.

Heck, even if they stay with her, she is still going to outlive them since she is basically immortal. :qq:

Oh, I forgot to mention, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SERIES! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR THE TRANSLATION!!! :thumbsup:

Time and its unrelenting passage, just a natural occurrence caused by the movements of the fundamental particles that form life.

Indifferent to the plights it creates, a wave of entropy... powerful... absolute... and so very beautiful.

The song of life needs its finish, no matter what forms it takes, its beginnings, its evolutions... its end... it will find a new tone, a new note when passed on.

For however brief or long it is that Isami holds to this song, Hans entrusted him... the act by itself holds its meaning, passed on or forgotten.

Felt the need to be unnecessarily poetic, this story does that to me... I have no idea if I did a good job, just hope it didn't make anyone cringe too much XD.

Thank you for reading.

I really like the way the robots are portrayed in this. The core of their being is the need to help people but they can learn, feel and evolve. They all end up being shaped in different way by the job they do and the people they serve and developing different personality as a result. As keepers of the past they fit so well with the theme of the manga, that nostalgia for a better more civilized world and the lasting effect of love and relationship even in the middle of complete destruction. That manga is such a beautiful piece of art.

Jesus, that last panel of Hans. With the gradual transition from the earlier panel of his watch stopping it implies that all of the clocks stopped at exactly the same time. You can almost hear the ticking go silent.

Author is at least subconsciously calling back to the (first) YKK chapter "Everyone's Ships". They don't want to be in Alpha's position:

Your time and your bodies are riding in the same ship. I may be only watching from the shore.
-- Alpha, on Takahiro and Makki.

God. The inevitability of time and what you make with the fraction you get always hits.
