The holographic sprite is in denial of the shelter's uselessness following the death of all its inhabitants, keeping it in its original perfection. they are AI's, they probably not programmed with the concept of organic death, like the maid thought his master could get cured, or the AI in the shelter didn't have any protocol of letting people left the shelter. They are programmed with a purpose and following said purpose until the end.
