He acts like a super strong and sexually active husband in the outside (which btw is "meh" to me) but he doesn't have to do that. The only thing he's supposed to do is to display his deep love for her, but instead of that, he preferes to sexualize her in front of others and talking in a way to show how strong his "manliness" is.
That doesn't seem something a gentleman of his era would do (which it's something you'd expect of someone like him -a noble-) and that doesn't seem something a good husband and partner would do as well. Even in stories like Lucia, where the ML (who's high over heels for her, especially in the sex*al aspect) is kinda a violent ass and doesn't care about others, he never disrespected her in front of anyone, nor even the workers, maids, etc. because he knows she does cares (which is surprising but he always cared for her limits).
There are ways to show the bond between them without being too literal, but this kid doesn't seem to care and that's my problem with him. If they're going to create cliché characters (nothing wrong with that, I can enjoy them as well), at least they should follow the behaviours of what they're supposed to be. Is this guy a jerk or not? Is this guy a proper ruler or not? Because this guy here doesn't really seem proficient in any of his roles. Not as a the head of his household ( I can't find myself taking seriously a ruler that gets aroused every 2 seconds, lol), not as a hubby, not as a noble and not as a business partner (he doesn't respect boundaries and he's at the verge of breaking their contract in less than a week and because of his lust).
They're not real lovers, they've been together for how long? Two days? They're not even close to each other but he keeps doing all this. I don't get it. 🤷🏻♀️
And what I dislike the most about the way he's talking about her, is that it can put her in higher risk. Or did he forget about his uncle (the one who killed his previous wife for getting pregnant and has eyes and ears everywhere)? He's already wary of her, but the more he talks about how active they're in bed, his uncle's awareness towards her will grow and so the risk for her (which I find it silly since he's supposed to try to protect her. Unless ofc he's trying to use her life to prove the bad deeds of his uncle, but that'd make him an ass so idk what I want to believe).
Oh. And can we talk about the lost of his wife and son? It's been bothering me for a while because it seems to be something not really important for him. Idk, I can't help but think in what can we expect from a man like this. 😪
There are several things that seems kinda unnecessary and off to me, and the author instead of showing a strong and good man, is showing a weak (in a bad sense) and cheap guy imo. She's fine but her original character seems to be fading away under his shadow so *sighs*.
