They both clearly want to and there's no logical reason why they shouldn't. I don't see why the story would improve based on whether they commit or not?

They're two teens in love, dating, clearly thinking sexually and are lying on each other while kissing on a couch. What does innocence mean here? Plus having sex doesn't mean you aren't innocent. Having said that, I imagine there will be an excuse that comes up.

They are essentially what would be in most US school districts high school freshmen. That's pretty young and they really shouldn't (if for no other reason that condoms can break, rarely), but according to a 2017 study that I've posted a link to before 20% of US 9th grade students have had sex with the next grades rising to 36%, 47%, and 57%.

In the US they would be high school freshman in the typical 7-8 junior high school, 9-12 high school system.

But I agree they should wait. Their brains haven't developed to the point of good decision making by 14/15.

I know Yamada can’t stand the current setup, so she needs to either come clean before she becomes popular—letting everyone know she’s already got her future husband before fans create their own head canons—or find something else she loves besides modeling or acting. Personally, I’m a ‘nothing more than a kiss until marriage’ kind of guy, but if they are going to take that step, I hope they at least wait until they’re 18.

Japan doesn't have 4 years of highschool. They only have 3 so when they graduate which is close they will be sophomores basically, then Jr, then Senior. Growing up I've known a small select few of girls and boys around 13 and 14 having sex. Our tiny Brian's back then didn't have the right mind and we all made mistakes like that. Some high schoolers I know even got pregnant at 14 but had the baby at 15. It's not that common in Japan but I'm sure it does happen.

Have these people forgotten the first several volumes? Was it not clear enough that this is not a "fluffy cutesy" series?

I'm looking forward to how they react/progress with this... they're not exactly little kids anymore, one of them even has a job. Maybe the people saying this is weird lived sheltered lives or something, but at their age it isn't uncommon to have already had relationships and sexual experience.

These people have also forgotten what it's like to be a teen.
