I wonder if the sister's band arc was the author foreshadowing Anna realizing that the showbiz world is not worth the cost of your close ones?

The love of those fans is temporary, and easily shattered when they smell even a whiff of "impurity."

Sacrificing your love life for those types of people is not worth it.

Anyone who says this drama is forced was reading with a blindfold.

This was inevitable. We were always gonna have to face this. Yamada's career has been a source of dread for Kyotaro since he picked up that magazine, and it's been a wedge in their relationship since they went to see the movies.

How is Norio going to solve this in a way that lets Kyo and Anna have their cake and eat it too, I don't know.

I'd like to remind y'all that the two of them aren't even in high school yet and still have to deal with managing their relationship as well as her job, a job that exposes her to the public eye, in japan at that. If all of this wasn't addressed and just brushed off because "where are my wholesome chapters" it'd literally just be bad writing, how is this forced

I know this is compulsory drama, but still hurts a little. If possible, I would want a finale like Bisque Doll
So a rushed ending with a pretty ass timeskip? I’m ngl, these last 10/15 or so chapters were kinda asa and seemed kinda like childish drama, but this manga showed for a while that keeping up after the confession doesnt mean a drop in quality

Damn probably the biggest conflict we had so far.... It could even result in a momentary break-up over soon much that Yamada is going through....

it was painful seeing how much she worked hard to make this 1x1 date happen..

Will Yamada just reveal the relationship or idk.... maybe Ichikawa finally reveal his career path..

2 chapters left for the volume.... lets see what Norio will do.
Two chapters for the end of what'll be S3. I'm not liking our chances for good things right now...

Alright I made an account just for this fade, cuz all these “realism” card spammers need to get off their high horses and open their eyes to reality and the truth. This perceived notion that “realism magically equals good manga writing” is simply incorrect. In this thread, it seems anyone who calls out this ridiculous downturn of events in the manga, which was forced in how it was presented and developed since volume 11, gets hit with “oh it’s realistic you don’t understand,” “you just want forced wholesomeness” “that’d be bad writing,” when we are in the midst of bad writing open your eyes people. So many users are parading the manga quality like it’s still amazing by using the wrong reasoning.

The realism champions think random and cheap drama equates to cinematic and top tier storytelling, because somehow this is amazing BECAUSE it appears realistic and grounded, but I would pose the question, does BokuYaba even need this? And is this what the manga set out to be in its earlier form? For the most part, the answer is no to both. Here’s the thing, the pro-realistic crowd is applauding this mid-tier presentation of issues as some kind of gospel, because for some reason BokuYaba must reflect real life dating and social issues for it to be good apparently. Are you all unaware to the fact that real life dating, modern dating, is in the gutter right now? I mean there’s tons of things wrong with modern dating that I won’t get into too many specifics, but from all the fakeness, emphasis on appearances and material gains, lack of loyalty, etc etc., why does BokuYaba need to stoop to this level? If it’s “just to be realistic” then that reasoning is dumb.

Here’s my main point, BokuYaba is not a realistic story, never was, never will be. If BokuYaba was “realistic” from the beginning, as all these defenders of this silly drama arc that was poorly created and executed keep spamming over and over, then a girl like Yamada would NEVER date a guy like Ichikawa, end of story. If you applied this story’s circumstances to the real world, all of this would never happen. And even in the rarest instance these two kinds of people got together, a girl like Yamada in the real world would’ve cheated on a guy like Ichikawa by now. In the actual manga, Ichikawa and Yamada had a fairytale-type of love story, they only had one significant hiccup in 9 volumes leading to the confession. Since BokuYaba wasn’t playing all this “realistic teen social status drama” before for 10 volumes, like you guys are so fervently defending now, then what right is there to criticize those who don’t like it and consider it to be forced when BokuYaba wasn’t like this from the start.

Using “realism” as a cheap buzzword to defend an overall drop in quality and a way to put down anyone who speaks out against this arc is frankly ridiculous.

This is the point where Norio has finally made it evident. All the other drams up to now has been showing the issues coming.

Ichi has always sacrificed and given up or taken on the burden for Anna's career. Now Anna's seeing the results of her career path and it hurts. I'm excited to see Norio's solution to this. Maybe a break up?
0% chance of a break up, they love each other.

Yea man, because readers who just want to see the main two characters happy and don’t like needless and avoidable melodrama don’t understand anything because they allegedly haven’t been in a relationship like you I guess. How respectful of you

I am sure they will figure out the right balance to their relationship, because unlike most romcoms out there Anna and Kyo actually talk with each other. About their feelings, their hopes and dreams and their concerns. :wooow:

You clearly dont understand how early (jr high and earlier) attractions work. Yamada liked Ichi because he was weird, she was attracted to the weird kid. This isnt uncommon at that age. I dont care for the rest of your argument but i felt like that needs to be pointed out.

And you clearly don’t understand what the hell I said because you ignored the rest of it as you stated there, thanks. Bro thinks he can act all big and smart against me without making any effort to understand my points.

I explicitly said if more realistic tendencies were applied to the story’s circumstances, Yamada, being a highly popular and up and coming model, would most likely not want to date the weird kid because that’s how most women are like nowadays in the real world in that type of position and role, being a model and a popular social media figure. That’s nothing against Yamada’s character, I’m trying to articulate that saying realistic circumstances must be applied to BokuYaba now, when it’s honestly not exactly been this way all along, is not a fair argument to make against people who don’t like this arc.
