Well, this arc was coming from a mile away and I'm actually glad that Norio plyed it out in a nicer way than most.

The entertainment industry is fucking disgusting with how controlling it is, and idc how much it is your dream to be a part of it, it is NEVER WORTH the pain and sacrifices you go through for companies that literally only see you as a product. Find the managers and castrate them for stealing joy away from children.
To be fair, a good number of fans can see their idols/oshis just as much of a product as the managers/agencies who employ them do, even if they may not realize it.

Those fans came to see something from their oshis and they expect them to deliver, regardless of their personal circumstances. If they don't follow through or turn out to be totally different when not seen in a public setting? Yeah, you bet your ass those fans are gonna riot. The way the managers/agencies handle their idols may seem heartless, but we do have to keep in mind that they're doing all they can to keep their idols' reputations, as well as their groups', from plummeting due to those riots, and in the worst case, keeping their idols getting harmed by their very fans.

When you go into the entertainment industry, regardless if you're an entertainer or part of agency, you really could be selling your souls for the minuscule chance of achieving fame and success, if that's what you're aiming for.

I could see her trying to go in disguise, and kyo possibly talking her out of it and maybe gaining the trust of her Management that he also understands the responsibility she has as a celebrity, or I could see something a little lighter such as as the friends taking her around the festival on a video call or something.

Because I do think its a valid concern for the school at large that they want to keep her from bringing adults with cameras and random fans to the festival. The drama here in my opinion should be kyotaro being upset that Anna didn't keep him informed even though he's told her that he respects her career and wants her to prioritize it.
I've never been to a Japanese school, but shouldn't they be able to pretty well control who they allow in? Don't they have a wall and gate around the school? My local schools don't have that and it's basically impossible to get in without showing your ID and having a valid reason. They have cameras outside the doors you have to show it to before they even let you in. Although I guess the school festivals are supposed to be open to the public and not just students and their family/guests, since they went to that other school's festival and got in fine.

I will never understand the Japanese culture thing of not letting famous people date or marry publicly.
It's the same thing as twitch e-thots losing their simp followers when it's revealed they have a boyfriend. The image they sell is a "pure" (or more like "available") and attractive person, and the fan perception is often "I could be in a relationship with this idealized version of a person" and they financially support the person based on that idea. If it becomes obvious that the person is not "available", then they have no reason to nurture a parasocial relationship by buying that person's merch etc.

What's the issue here? I'd guess maybe they don't want people to know where she's studying (or potentially will study or similar) but surely that can be inferred from social media from classmates and people in that HS so that's out, aside from that I can't think of a reason for this.

I can't wait for Ichikawa to completely obliterate this guy's attempts to keep Yamada away from school events.

This is also why Hollywood actors/musicians used to pretend to be heterosexual. Gotta keep that illusion alive.

I'm huffing copium here, but...
In chapter 151 Yamada tells someone not to post their selfie together online but Ichikawa is nowhere nearby for it, I'm betting the reason for this isn't their relationship but some other dumb reason related to her work.

It's important to point out that the story isn't exactly subtle, and constantly pushes the idea that Ichikawa's view of the world is incorrect to spur him to grow, like with his convoluted attempt to push his idea for the cultural festival, it didn't go as he planned because he expected the worst and didn't understand how much he was liked by everyone.
The manager is going to end up being level headed, and this image of them as a scary person is from Ichikawa's perspective.
Let's not forget that Yamada even says the manager is "actually a nice person" in chapter 81 and she's shown to be a good judge of character.
And in that same chapter the manager comments on what would happen if their relationship got in the way of Yamada's work. It's purposely written vaguely so the reader draws their own conclusion, and I'm sure it's the intention to push the expectations people have on these industries so it can subvert them.

Called it, her job is going to become an issue. How will Ichikawa deal with the new rules.

Poor Anna being forced to miss out on her school life.
Everybody was bitching about how that just how it is with Idol life and they have to have this sort of relationship to move forward.
It was so obvious these issues were going to be dealt with but people were being so oblivious.

Yamada should learn from Mai San! The GOAT

I mean the interesting part isn't really the idol life that creates drama for sure. It will be how Yamada's schedule becomes busy. If Norio has Yamada become successful and therefore more busy and distant especially considering that Ichikawa is aiming for a different more rigourous high-school than Yamada. How will that affect the relationship. Yamada is rushing into Adulthood with a somewhat childish mind while Ichikawa has always been the more mature one in their relationship. Yamada unrealistically will want it all but reality will make her have to choose priorities and what happens when those include Her relationship?

I once called Yamada selfish (which she is because she has been pampered and sheltered so sometimes see doesn't see the selfishness of her actions) and got bombarded to hell

Yeah I agree in some aspects she is and I would place that being due to her being an only child. You see it in how Ichikawa is the one often having to make the mature decision. He puts Yamada first in almost everything. She may not realize it because of her upbringing. It's why this career will hopefully allow Norio sensei to explore the interesting difficulties that can arise because of it.
