Also, why not just do home dates since her parents are cool and all, just make him the dad's gamer friend or even a cook apprentices for a good cover story... why not right?
I'm proud of our MC for realizing that he really didn't need to tell him all of this, but did it anyway as a caring adult and ally. It shows that he understands the nuanced circumstances and didn't just blame it on the "rotten adults of the industry," which he probably would have at the start of this story, pre-character growth.
I really love their relationship and how much they've grown. I really hope we get a series where they're actual adults and see how things progress from there as well.
