@Tatherwood I can't really say it's impossible. It pretty much happened to me, my wife and my daughter when we went shopping with my relatives. They left us at a bus stop without realizing that we got separated from them. Until now, my auntie and cousins still didn't know why they didn't notice it when they entered the bus. 😂

Yamada takes longer but it's still quite obvious that she's into him, not even counting the twitter comics which practically spell it out with the "subtext". At the very least by chapter 19, I think it's undeniable that she has a bit of a crush on him.
True about chapter 19, but it's important to remember that quite a few of the Twitter extra comics are out of continuity, often showing future events, like the Christmas special (chapter 19.3) or Valentine's Day comic with chocolate Shogi (chapter 22.1). What these extras show of Yamada's feelings might not be happening in the main story chapters released around the same time.
The game of chocolate Shogi was actually incorporated into the Valentine's Day arc of the main story in Chapter 72.

She's been interested in him a bit since he started doing little weird things she kept noticing. She probably was liking him and only grew to like him more around the time he laid those tissues out for her (just see the look on her face at the end of that chapter). She isn't suddenly falling for him this arc, that's dumb. She's already in deep at this point, she's just way, way more interested after this (and more importantly next) chapter.

I've noticed a lot of people try to put this in usual romance convention boxes, trying to figure out "when he started liking her" or "when she started liking him". The thing is, it's just gradual and a gradient of feelings, and there isn't a single point for either of them. Even Ichikawa's blatant moment where he admits it to himself isn't a turning point where he falls for her. He's liked her since before chapter 1, and was just misunderstanding his feelings. Yamada takes longer but it's still quite obvious that she's into him, not even counting the twitter comics which practically spell it out with the "subtext". At the very least by chapter 19, I think it's undeniable that she has a bit of a crush on him.

DIsagree with the specific, agree with the general frame, though.

Sadly, we don't have (and maybe we never will) this story narrated from Yamada's POV, but we can assume a great conflict inside her when looking for a categorization regarding Ichikawa and, in that process, she simply can't obviate friendship, so, of course, Yamada would be interested in him since he would be the first male friend she ever would have.

So yes, I agree with you the process is gradual, but it's not like we can't place landmarks for the moments when Ichikawa was just another guy for her, when she has gotten a liking on him, when she considers him a friend and, finally, when she realizes she's in love with him. For example, the way Yamada contact/behave with Ichikawa suffers a radical change after Karte 25-27. Before that landmark, she keeps a respectful distance of him, as expected of someone aware of the personal space of the other. From Karte 27 onwards, Ichikawa's personal space just dissapears at Yamada's hands, once she's aware that she requires to invade that space for him to note her.
