I think it only seems that way cause the extra chapters don't follow the same chronological order. It's only been ~10 main line chapters since they openly started hanging out. Another 10 chapters before that he was still struggling to speak to her normally.

@nbhstcqbvvpmacjrmv it's still on the 3rd volume though, and a lot of these chapters are just extras from the author's twitter page, comparing it to Komi san with 250+ chapters is little bit too much I think, the worst offender is https://mangadex.org/title/18221/amano-megumi-wa-suki-darake for me. At least Bokuyaba is still creative with it's shenanigans and both of them are obviously getting closer to each other and we're already going into lovey dovey stage now.
