Man, this really drives me up the wall. The Japanese word スタイル, which is romanized as sutairu (i. e. it's derived from the English word "style"), generally means "figure", "physique" or "body shape". It can also mean "style", but it usually means the former, especially in the context of talking about people's appearance. So what Ichikawa is saying here is not that models have nice style (cause the imaginary model-version Ichikawa he imagines wears exactly the same thing he does, so how can he have better style?) but that if you have a good FIGURE, you will look good in any clothes. I swear to god, somehow 99% of TLs, even many of those who are otherwise very competent, seem to miss this nuance 99% of the time.
