Muffins are baked between 350-425F so there's no way normal plastic would not have melted then, unless there's some sort of special melt-proof plastic that's meant for hiding stuff inside baked goods...

Plastic food wrap microwave safe. That's what I use and I'm sure it's the same material. Google it or YouTube it. That's actually how I came across it ^^
Even though the muffin and bracelet thing ended up being a big hit, he just thought it was the cringiest thing between creation and final hand-off. I think the lesson here is more that sometimes you're your own worst critic.
