@Nixnaw it doesn't really damage the pot but now that there's milk in the pot it gets into the leaves and creates a mess and you need to actually wash the pot thoroughly. Furthermore, when you make tea you have a ratio of loose tea to hot water that you want and adding milk into the pot will lower the temperature of your water. Lastly, if you add the milk directly to the pot and serve the tea to more than one person they can't adjust the taste for themselves if you put in too much milk. Honestly it's like watching someone pour a bad pint of beer and feeling anal.

@deerafl I don't go to ones where I can't see the brewed tea lol. If I see bins with powders, I don't buy from those places.

@nixnax , to add to @ghusjil 's response, putting milk into a teapot can also increase the chance of the milk curdling and forming solids which can make the taste weird as well as be weird to drink, especially if you use a more acidic tea, and it will increase the mess. And the temperature change will effect the brewing of the tea with either taking a lot longer than the normal or just not working as effectively, even with double the leaves.

To all who is wondering why the maids didn't get fired yet, it was mentioned in earlier chapters that since her right as managing the budget is given to somebody else she didn't have the right to fire anyone.
