I mean, it could just be a curse that kills only complex organisms. It's not actually too hard to do scientifically (you could target eukaryotes by specifically targeting things that only eukaryotes have, like certain ribosomal subunits or organelles in general).

The more they uncover about Sade the more I dislike her. I don't care if she might have had traumas. She was narcissistic, egomaniacal and sadistic, and if her troubles were due to a broken heart, it only makes sense because nobody in their right mind would want anything to do with such a disgusting individual.

Considering the mood of the story and the MC wanting to understand and befriend her, I guess the plot is heading towards an "everybody's happy" sorta ending, but I can't help but wish it ended with her getting f*cked over as much as possible. She deserves it.
