Ik that this is just a fantasy story that makes no sense if you think about it too deeply but...

If his cold is caused by a bacteria, wouldn't that mean that the curse does not kill microorganisms and only multicellular ones...

If his cold is caused by a virus, isn't that objective evidence that virus are not alive...

And to add on it, a flower wilt because its cells are drained of water which causes them to shrink and the overall integrity of the plant to be very weak. Does that mean that the curse induces rapid water evaporation in plants?

I really liked the wide eyed look Alice gives whenever she realizes something new about the Duke. Although she's very open about her actions, it's moments like those that reveal that her composure (or "mask" maybe) isn't as strong as she (or the Duke) thinks. It gives weight to the idea that she's serious about her love for him since it can be a bit hard to imagine thanks to her daily actions.

This story would be a one vhapter romcom without the curse.

The problem isn't the logic. The problem is that the curse doesn't follow it's own rules.
As they said, never apply logic. The author use the curse to their advantage, as convenient plot point. Oversights are normal and expected, it’s not like they are biologists. Sure they learned biology but by the time they reached this stage, they pretty much forgot a lot of it anyway
