Hmmm this is quite interesting. i'm not gonna drop this one. I'm sure there's more to this than just a crazy emperor and an easily-blushed pope.

I wonder why the Emperor is like this. A LOT of manhwas have tyrannical emperors like him, but the thing is, Caleb's actions are sooo way out of hand. Can't he use his power to RESTRAIN the people around him instead of actually killing/hurting them? Ludan seems very suspicious to me too. It's like he's taking advantage of Hilde's love for him. Caleb mentioned that he is the "peskiest" among all the "cockroaches". I wonder if this Holy Nation has some secrets or coverups that needs to be exposed. 🤔

Mmm I might continue because of the chancellor. A reasonable character finally lol. I dont like the Dynamic between the Emperor and Pope and frankly the Cardinal is a bit weird in but i might need to see more. Still have a lot of issues with this series though.

Please! Don't let this manga end in my trash folder. I have high hopes for this one, however once the Emperor starts to get with the pope, I will probably drop this. I mean I would be okay with her getting with the chancellor, let him switch sides, or maybe even the God who put her there in the first place. PopeXGod that is going to be my OTP for now.

So black people cant be villains even in fantasy setting? Sounds pretty racist how you want to limit certain ethnic group from being represented in certain roles in a media.

Personally, i never tough that "black person is a villain = racism" because i strive to not treat people as a totems representing their ethnic groups but as an individuals instead.

@CarmillaKriegstein yes king, of course! thanks for your invaluable input about the moralistic actions of one of the few only characters with brown skin in this story becoming a villain and being used as an exemplifier of villainy when the other characters are all walking, talking opposites of her (ie, light skinned and, with the good-natured heroine as a foil, light haired)! thank you also for the acting like it's the character's fault that they may be drawn as the villain as though they are completely complicit in the way that they are drawn and written for this story!
i'm so glad that you, a person with an absolutely sexualized, horny, balls of the walls pfp of a brown anime girl, are willing to grace us poc of color with such half-baked, subzero takes! perhaps instead of jerking it online, you may also grace your eyeballs with actual reading materials to help your brain cells grow as big as your ego. next time, if you have such urges of wanting to stroke your ego by trying to come up with "gotcha"s online, may i perhaps recommend that you actually think about what you're writing?

Why did she mention marriage request, but not the fact that the fact that he near-fatally injured a bunch of her people for no good reason, which indirectly endangered her health since she felt obligated to heal them? I mean she only mentioned that he "used force" against the cardinal, and destroyed *one* of her vessels, but she didn't really properly convey the amount or degree of destruction he wreaked.

sometimes i wish some of yall would actually reflect on what you say instead of just saying it outright for the sake of it. all i merely said was that i wish she doesn't turn out as the villain since every other person here is a goddamn walking fluorescent lite brite and her being of the few brown people and getting assigned as villain leaves a really bad taste to the mouth. since again, she's one of the few brown characters and she's the villain, not much other good brown characters to compare her to.
you would know that if YOU went outside and had any meaningful interactions with other poc. especially since i'm technically not the one tokenizing her, the author/artist is since she is, and i will once again emphasize this so that this finally gets through some of yall fuckin heads, SHE IS ONE OF THE FEW BROWN CHARACTERS IN THIS GODDAMN STORY AND MAKING HER THE VILLAIN WITH VERY LITTLE OTHER BROWN CHARACTERS TO COMPARE HER TO IS A CONSCIOUS CHOICE BY THE AUTHOR AND NOT BY ME

Why does the comment section of every webtoon that doesn't have perfect story and character devolve into angrumets. Just drop the story and move on if you don't like it. Hate the ML? Drop it. Hate the FL blushing? Drop it. Hate a villian...having brown skin? Whatever, just drop it.

I have mixed feelings about arranged marriage, but this whole "well your parents signed it before god and he didn't void it so I guess you must get married" says absolutely horrible things about their relationship to (an apparently real and sentient) god that I hope this series actually addresses.

I'm getting gradually less hopeful about the author keeping perspective in this one, though. This whole "I can't help but swoon as he does horrible things, it seems to be magic" has been an interesting plot point but the particular application of shoujo sparkles and whatnot seem to indicate we're supposed to think that's leading up to something genuinely romantic which is, short of further details, a bit alarming.

@Pokari I just get particularly annoyed when I peek at the comments for reader reacions to the plot and all I see is people threatening to drop it. It's fine in the first few chapters, but gets annoying as the story progresses, and I see the same people complaining 8 months later. This story has been shitty since chapter 1, so it's not like they were attached to the characters and are sad to see them degenerate.

I'm the type that immediately drops a story I dislike and never looks back, so it's a big personality clash. There's no such thing as a 'hate read/watch' to me.

I don't care if she has to marry the emperor to honour the written oath. But the kiddo is too impertinent with his childish rebuttal attacks, even if his personal feelings align with the FL's. He even thinks he knows more than God & puts his personal words in His place. That's just plain rude & too short-sighted. There's a reason the oath isn't destroyed to this day & it is fate, which in turn relates closely to God's will.

Humans are selfish creatures after all, & each soul is selfish in their own personal ways. Of course, God knows all that & still allows certain things to happen, even if it's against some of those souls' wants & needs. You don't get to dictate or judge how God conducts His own ways for whatever reasons possible (I'm nagging like this because of the kid).
