It was going to have to go this way. The boss had to many things that were a direct result of Kojima . These problems were upsetting the delicate balance of the are and needed to be addressed. Also this was straight up an underling going into business for himself. I think that Kojima knew he was dying and that the lip service being paid was a formality. He was never sorry a day in his life until he knew his life was over.

This guy really reminded me of Richie Aprile from the Sopranos
He was just a dude who got out of prison and couldn't adapt to the times (as well as being a bit psycho)

I love that scene at the end when they hear the gunshot and then silence
Their reaction/lack of says just so much about both characters
