Really cool monster design, the shading made that ugly mug pop. Wish we saw some combat like her dodging, running up its giant sword when it gets lodged in the ground and killing that parasitic...fairy lich thing with a leaping slash.

The quality of the monster and armor designs in this always makes me wonder what kind of story the mangaka would draw if they didn't have to worry about staying serialized and paying the bills. A lot of thought going into things that are only shown for a couple of panels each time.

These fucking monster designs, man. This is the most out-of-place wholesome manga I think I've ever read. Like, everything I know about manga screams at me that this is going to turn insufferably dark and edgy at every page and then it just... doesn't. It really trips me up.
