The man isn't perfect, he has too much obsession with purity and judge people too fast.
But he has good points :

• Doesn't try to harass or coerce girls
• Has some respect for them and doesn't just see them as shagging meat
• Protects and helps girls when they are in a pinch
• Is able to recognise his errors and make some excuses

That's not too bad for a beginning.
Let's put his obsession on some background and immaturity, he clearly can evolve

In his way, he's a way more interesting character than a fairy tale mr perfect prince
