That's actually a really awesome way to do infrastructure construction.
That's what I came here to say. The brick golems flatten and compact the ground, bring materials to the site, and become building materials? As long as the production methods are reasonable, it's a brilliant use of the "technology". I'm going to pass this on to some friends thinking about running D&D in the near future, it would absolutely fit in with a high-magic setting.

Wait i though the settlement was a campfest just a while ago lol
Meanwhile, where I live, the incompetent buffoons can’t even fill and level a pothole properly.
Wow, makes the incompetent buffons in my area look summat more competent because they at least patched up the roads. Still no decent sidewalks outside most big roads tho, never enough garbage bins, public transportation is still 20-30 years behind, and old town Jakarta still looks like a beautified warzone with all the colonial-era ruins and unrenovated buildings.

I’ve heard they covered a river with nets to mask the smell or something (dunno how that works if it’s true)?

The ones in my area actually do a great job with road work!

On the condition that you're fine with it taking 7-8 months for a single road and that it remains closed the entire time. The new road after was wonderful, and they do it yearly where it's needed, but hot damn does it disrupt traffic, and getting to work last year required a half hour detour each way every single day for said 7-8 months, which was a pain in the ass.

Even worse.

It was during the 2018 Asian Games. The governor at the time, Anies, is a former minister who got fired for not doing his job, and a known narcissist who’d rather take selfies with the media than actually unfuck Jakarta, so that river wasn’t cleaned up before the event; instead of cleaning it, he just covered it with black mesh cloth to “reduce the smell”, and hope people forget about it in a couple months.

Which people did since half the city apparently voted for him as president, somehow, despite the clear evidence that the only thing he did properly was the handling of COVID.

Basically, it’s really fucked up considering that the river is near the athlete’s village for the event, and Asian Games is an Asia-wide event, so all the international athletes that can’t afford their own hotels are there to experience the L’eau de Jakarta.

At this point it feels like tradition for the govvy to barely acknowledge anything outside Jabodetabek, especially if it’s outside Jawa and Bali. I mean, Sulawesi doesn’t even have a highway or railway…
